Baked Potato Soya Pie

Bonjour to all the blog readers!! Dancing and singing to the tune of "Saturday- Saturday" bollywood song, I have prepared "Baked Potato Soya Pie" today. It is one of my favourite baked dishes. It is basically a dish with layers of seasoned soya granules, grated cheese and baked potato mash. The tanginess of spices with creaminess of melted cheese and aroma of baked potatoes created a tantalizing effect on taste palate.  I am going to share its detailed step by step pictorial recipe in today's post :) .



List Of Ingredients: (Serves 4)


Layer I-
Soya Granules-1 cup
Cooking Oil-2 tbsp
Ginger Paste-1 tsp
Chopped Onion-1
Chopped Green Chillies-1
Chopped Capsicum-1
Chopped Carrot-1
Chopped Tomato-1
Salt-1 tsp (or to taste)
Red Chilli Powder-1/2 tsp
Garam Masala-1/2 tsp
Roasted Cumin Powder-1/4 tsp
Tomato Puree-1 tbsp
Lemon Juice-1 tsp

Layer-II
Grated Cheese-1/2 cup

Layer-III
Medium sized Boiled Potatoes-3
Melted Butter-1/4 cup
Milk-1/4 cup
Black Pepper-1 tsp
Salt-1 tsp(or to taste)

Steps To Prepare:


Step1:
Soak soya granules in warm water for 30 minutes.



Step2:
Heat oil in a pan. Add ginger paste and green chillies to it. Add chopped onions and stir well. Once the onions have turned pink, add chopped capsicum, carrots and mix well. After 2-3 minutes, add chopped tomatoes, salt, red chilli powder, garam masala, roasted cumin powder and tomato puree to it. Mix well. After 3-4 minutes, add squeezed soya granules to it and let it cook for another 2 minutes.  Add lemon juice to it at the end.



Step3:
Mash the boiled potatoes well. Add melted butter, milk, black pepper and salt to it. Mix well so that mash becomes fluffy and attains cream like consistency.



Step4:
Take an oven safe bowl. Brush some melted butter in its base. Place the soya granules mix in the bowl and level it with a spatula. 



Add grated cheese over it and level it too with spatula.



 On the top of it, add potato mash to it. With the help of a spoon form soft peaks over it. You can also use a fork and create fine lines on the surface.



Step5:
Preheat the oven at 180 degree celsius. Once the oven is preheated, place the bowl in it and let it bake for 25-30 minutes till the top becomes golden brown.
