How to make curd (yoghurt) at home

Posted by Divya on September 10, 2015 Filed Under: Basics Tagged With: Gluten Free, Healthy, Kids Friendly

Today I am going to share the procedure for making curd at home. Curd not helps in improving digestion but also a rich source of proteins and calcium. Its external application is very useful in treating tan leaving the skin soft and supple. For making curd using milk, we would be requiring a tablespoon of curd or “Seja” as called generally in hindi.

List Of Ingredients:

  • Milk – 500 ml
  • Curd- 1 tsp

Steps To Prepare:

Step1:
Boil the milk. Once the milk is boiled, switch off the flame and let it get cool enough such that you can comfortably immerse you finger into it. Don’t let it cool down completely otherwise your curd will not set later on.

Step2:
Take tablespoon of curd and spread it at the bottom of the vessel in which you wish to set out the curd.

Step3:
Pour milk gently over it and give it light stir with a spoon. Cover it with a lid.

Step4:
Let it stand in a microwave or an isolated warm spot for at least 6-8 hours.

Once set, store it in refrigerator all the time to prevent it from getting sour.
