Coconut Chutney

Today I am going to share a hassle free recipe for "Coconut Chutney". It is simple also and takes very less time to prepare. You can have it with Dosas, Uttapam, Idli or keep it in fridge and have it with your daily food just like any other chutney.

List Of Ingredients:

  • Desiccated coconut powder-1/2 cup
  • Curd-1/2 cup
  • Roasted Peanut Powder-2tbsp
  • Salt-1tsp
  • Green Chillies-2
  • Lemon Juice-1tsp
  • Black Mustard Seeds-1tsp
  • Curry Leaves-(8-10)

Steps to Prepare:

Add desiccated coconut powder, curd, peanut powder, green chillies, salt, curry leaves in a chopping jar. Chop it for 2-3 minutes till all ingredients are finely granulated and mixed thoroughly. If the mixture seems to be dry, add some more curd or water to it and mix it.

I have used ready made "Desiccated Coconut Powder" for this recipe. You can get it from any general store. I got the below packet from my local grocery store:

Roast some mustard seeds in a pan. Once they begin to crackle add them to the mixture prepared above.Add lemon juice to it (Please note, if your curd is already sour you can skip the lemon juice).

The "Coconut chutney" is ready. You can store it in refrigerator for 2-3 days. Sometimes it happens when you pop the chutney out of the fridge after 1-2 hours or after a day or so, you will notice that it may have thickened and formed a lump. No need to panic, just add some curd/water to it and mix well,it will become the same again.Enjoy!! :)
