Tutti Frutti Biscuits

Eid Mubarak to all the blog readers!! I believe a festival may be of any religion but it fills the air with joy and enthusiasm echoing the feelings of the people celebrating it :) . I remember going to my best friend's place once on Eid once. We had "Seviyan" there, lots of sweets and "Sharbat". My friend's father gave us kids "Eidi" also when we were returning home.

While remembering all these memories, my quest for baking continued and I prepared "Tutti Frutti Biscuits" today. "Tutti Frutti" or "Fruit Bits" are such tiny cute colourful things; no matter you add them in ice cream, cakes or biscuits, they instantly brighten up the subject adding intermittent sweetness to the bites :D .

List Of Ingredients: (Makes 12 biscuits)

  • All Purpose Flour/Maida-1/2 cup
  • Butter-1/4 cup
  • Powdered Sugar-1/4 cup
  • Vanilla Essence-1tsp
  • Fruit Bits/Tutti Frutti-1/4 cup

Steps To Prepare:

Sieve All purpose flour and add tutti fruity bits to it. Mix well.

Bring the butter to room temperature. Add powdered sugar to it. Whisk it till it is light and fluffy. Add vanilla essence and stir it.

Add sieved all purpose flour and tutti fruity bits to the whisked butter. Do not knead the dough, just bring the ingredients together with soft hands. If the dough feels sticky do not add more flour to it. Instead keep it in refrigerator for 10 minutes.

Form a small log out of the dough and wrap it with a cling film. Keep this log in refrigerator for 1 hour.

After 1 hour, bring the log out of the refrigerator and cut it into 1 cm thickness biscuits. Place a foil on the baking tray and place these biscuits on it.

Preheat the oven in convection mode at 180 degree celsius. Place the baking tray inside the oven for 13-15 minutes. Keep an eye on oven after 13 minutes. The biscuits are ready when the edges have turned brown.

Enjoy the biscuits with milk or tea!!
