Strawberry and Oreo Tart

A very good evening to all the foodies reading this blog. Today I am going to share Strawberry and Oreo Tart recipe. This dessert is a delicious and delectable combination of chocolate, Oreo and strawberries.

I recently visited Mahabaleshwar in the state of Maharashtra and brought with me kilos and kilos of strawberry. First time in my life, I had seen farms of strawberries so closely and strawberries being sold like onion and potatoes on the road side shops. While walking across the streets, I could imagine myself making those lovely pretty strawberry desserts as shown in Pinterest and Instagram. Although strawberries are available with local vendors also, but the strawberries there are so fresh and bright that you just can't resist buying them.

While buying strawberries, I could see different shapes and sizes of them. On asking the vendor that which one will be juicier, he asked me to taste a small strawberry and then a bigger one almost the size of a lemon. The smaller one was much sweeter. He told me that there are 12 varieties of strawberries here. Each one has its own characteristics and taste. Whoa!! 12 varieties!!

Strawberry & Oreo Tart recipe which I am sharing today has so many versions on Internet, with egg, without egg, some using butter, some using gelatine, some using so many ingredients that you may eventually drop the idea of even preparing it. It is a no bake dessert recipe so you don't even have to worry about oven. The recipe presented here requires minimum ingredients and gives maximum taste. Kids are surely going to love this dessert as the recipe comprises of all the ingredients  that are liked by them.

Hope you will like this eggless recipe for sinful strawberry & oreo tart!! :)

List Of Ingredients: (Serves 4 to 5)

For the crust:
Oreo Biscuits- 15
Butter- 50 gram

For the filling:
Fresh Cream-150 ml
Dark Chocolate-50 grams
Milk Chocolate-100 grams
Oreo-4
Strawberries- 3 to 4

For the topping:
Sliced strawberries -5
Icing Sugar- 1 tsp (optional)

I have used Amul fresh cream tetra pack for the filling. I would advice to discard the liquid part inside the pack and use only thick creamy part. Also, I am going to use silicon mould (diameter ~5.5 inches) for this preparation as you can see below (Buy here). You may also use spring form tin for the same.

Steps To Prepare:

Step1:
For preparing the crust, add Oreo biscuits to a grinding jar. Grind them to form fine crumbs.

Step2:
Add the melted butter to the crumbled Oreo biscuits and grind once again.

The mixture will have a dough like consistency.

Step3:
Using some more melted butter or olive oil, grease the insides of silicon mould. Press this Oreo and butter mixture gently in the bottom and on the edges of the silicon mould.

Keep it inside the refrigerator for at least half an hour. In the mean time, lets prepare the filling.

Step4:
In a non-stick pan, add cream and heat on low flame till cream becomes warm. No need to boil it. Add dark chocolate and milk chocolate to it. Stir gently and let it rest for 2-3 minutes.

The chocolate will keep on melting by the warmth of the cream. Mix well to get thick creamy ganache.

Let this mixture cool down.

Step5:
Chop the Oreo cookies and strawberries to get small cubes.

Step6:
In this step, we are going to assemble the dish. Bring the tart from the fridge. Pour half the chocolate ganache over it. Spread some chopped Oreo cookies and strawberries over it.

Pour some more ganache over it and again sprinkle remaining cookies and strawberries cubes. Pour the remaining ganache and level it.

Step7:
Arrange the sliced strawberries over it and press them gently so that they are slightly embedded in the ganache.

Step8:
Refrigerate the dish for at least 3-4 hours before serving. Carefully de-mould the tart by gently separating the sides of tart from the silicon mould and rolling the sides of mould downwards.

Dust some icing sugar over it. Slice and enjoy the sinful yummy combination of Oreo, chocolates and strawberries!!
