Garlic mushrooms is a delicious & quick vegetarian air fryer recipe that can be made in just 15 minutes. It can be served as healthy snack, appetizer (starter) or side dish. The combination of garlic and mushrooms sounds simple but the duo makes a heavenly combination.
Ther are many recipes for garlic butter mushrooms on Internet. In some recipes the mushrooms are pan fried, in some they are baked in oven and few people have suggested the combination of two i.e. stir frying and then baking in oven. I tried making these garlic butter mushrooms in air fryer and they turned out so good that I thought to share it with everyone else.
These buttery mushrooms are perfect to serve as starter, snack, with soups, or side dish They are not only easy to make but really quick too. With just few ingredients, you will have lip smacking starter ready at your table. This garlic butter mushroom recipe is especially treat for those who love mushrooms. I have topped these garlic mushrooms with lemon and cilantro as they add a freshness to the palate with lemon balancing the fat from butter.

List of Ingredients:
- Button Mushrooms – 200 grams
- Unsalted Butter / Olive Oil – 2 tbsp
- Garlic cloves – 3 to 4
- Salt – to taste
- Lemon – 1 tsp
- Cilantro – For garnishing
1. For vegan version use olive oil instead of butter.
2. Button mushroom have been used here as they are most readily available near me. Feel free to experiment with your favourite mushroom.
3. I used unsalted butter & then added salt from above as I like salt on lighter side. If you are using salted butter, skip adding the salt otherwise.
4. You can sprinkle more herbs of your choice like rosemary, thyme & oregano etc.
Steps To Prepare:
Rub the surface of mushrooms gently with a kitchen towel to remove excess dirt.
Cut the mushrooms into slices as shown below. If the stem of the mushroom is soggy or has spots, then chop that off also.
Dip these mushroom slices into water and gently scrub them with your fingers without breaking the pieces. Leave them on a kitchen towel to dry.
Chop the garlic really fine. Take butter/olive oil in a microwave safe bowl. Add chopped garlic into it. Microwave it for 20 to 30 seconds till butter melts completely.
Set the air fryer for preheating on 200 degree Celsius.
Brush generous amount of garlic butter/olive oil on these mushroom slices on both sides. Sprinkle salt (or herbs) over it.
Fry these buttered mushrooms in air fryer for 10 minutes while flipping them after 3-4 minutes.
Cooking time can be adjusted a little bit depending on how crispy you like your mushrooms to be, or the variety of mushrooms you are using.
Sprinkle fresh lemon juice & chopped cilantro over it. Enjoy these delicious hot garlic mushrooms as starter or accompaniment with your soup!!
